Governor of Sokoto State Ahmed Aliyu has inaugurated the state’s economic advisory council to develop economic road map for the state.

Inaugurating the committee yesterday, the governor lamented over lack of economic data and poor tax collection in the state.

According to him, his government has been servicing debts inherited from the immediate past administration since inception, urging the council to proffer workable solutions for these challenges.

“I urge you to exceed our expectations and offer the vital guidance needed to expedite the economic progress of this state.

“I also urge you to use your diverse experience in finance, commerce and industry for the development of the state in line with my administration’s strategic agenda,” he added.
