Special Assistant to the governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani on School Feeding Programme, Dr Fauziya Buhari-Ado has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful of a brighter future in spite of the prevailing hardship in the country.
Buhari-Ado, who was recently honoured as one of the 100 most notable Africans at a Business investment Summit in Kigali, Rwanda assured that Nigeria, just like other African countries would surely get over the challenges of underdevelopment it is grappling with presently.
“Never, never give up. Africa is rich. We have talented people. Let us put our hands together and make a difference in our own little ways. The economic hardship Nigerians are going through is evident but yet not peculiar to the country.
“Yet the world knows how resilient Nigerians are as demonstrated by our presence here. Let us pray for our dear country Nigeria as we remain positive and hopeful of a brighter future,” she said.
The SA, who spoke at the occasion on the role of women in driving transformative change in society, called for concerted efforts to address the social and economic challenges besetting the African continent.
Reminiscing how she had to sacrifice her personal business endeavours and time to boost school enrolment and retention among vulnerable and underprivileged pupils through the school feeding programme in Kaduna State, she charged fellow awardees not to relent in their respective efforts to impact positively on their societies in the African continent.
She further expressed appreciation to Governor Uba Sani and several public spirited individuals in Kaduna State for their support and contribution towards the successful enrollment of no fewer than 25,000 school pupils spread across the 23 local councils in the school feeding programme of the state.
Governor of Zamfara, Dauda Lawal who was among the awardees at the occasion spoke on the theme, „Fostering Collaboration and Networking Among Business, Governance, and Security Stakeholder Leaders Across the African Continent.“
The governor explained that with flexible networks and reliable collaborations, Africa can seamlessly move faster towards fruition.
The event convener, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, remarked that the 100 Most Notable African Leadership and Business Summit remains a beacon for the actualisation of the African dream, with regards to innovative business ideas and responsible leadership.
