Alhassan Sule Mamudo, the Chief Information Officer, in the office of the Acting Head of Services, Hamidu M. Alhaji, stated this in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP Weekend in Damaturu, Yobe State.

The measure, according to Mamudo, was in response to the current economic hardship arising from the fuel subsidy removal.

He said Governor Mai Mala Buni recently approved payment of N699,450,000 as palliative for civil servants and pensioners on the payroll of the state and local government on monthly basis amounting to N4.1 billion.

He also said that monthly payment for gratuity was recently reviewed from N100 Million to N200 million.

Similarly, Mamudo said the sum of N708 million was recently released to pay the gratuity of local government retirees.

He stressed that the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni places high premium on the welfare of its civil servants while soliciting support and cooperation for the administration to enhance effective service delivery to improve the lives of the people in the Yobe State.
