National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN) in Cross River State has elected a new executive with the charge to the members to work as a team to achieve the desired goals.
The election was witnessed by the national president of the association, Alhaji Mohammed Kabiru and other trade union representatives in Calabar on Monday.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the elections, Kabiru who was represented by Ambassador Charles Nelson, electoral officer from the national secretariat of the association, sued for unity of members.
While expressing happiness over the peaceful conduct of the election, the national president said, “Today, even myself I was afraid that there will be opposition, but the way everything went today, there was no single opposition.
“The election was free and fair no one felt cheated. Everyone was carried along. I bring a message of unity, oneness to Cross River. That if they can come together nobody can break them in cross River State.
“We were having issues at the national, but today we have a new credible leadership, which has stabilized and united the association at the national, so we now have the capacity to resolve any problems from the state levels because of that.”
