Heirs Technologies, a digital solutions company, has disclosed plans to bridge the tech-talent gap in Nigeria.
This is even as the tech company has started empowering young tech enthusiasts through its initiative, i-Academy, aimed at empowering young tech enthusiasts to combat the growing challenge of tech-talent attrition in Nigeria.

The chief executive officer, Heirs Technologies, Obong Idiong, who disclosed this during a media briefing in Lagos, said young IT enthusiasts will graduate from the six-month training programme with the skills and know-how required to start a lucrative career in the technology sector.
Idiong affirmed that the company is aiming for 100 interns this year, compared to only approximately 20 young people who received training last year, adding that, “Students will learn front end software development, backend software development and additional soft skills in a hybrid learning approach.”

As part of the curriculum, interns are exposed to real-life applications and projects, the managing director stated, while disclosing that the training will ensure they are well-equipped to design programmes that will meet the needs of both local and multinational companies in Nigeria.
Idiong stated that Heirs is examining several approaches to see which indexes they could replace with regard to local content. “If you look at Nigeria, we are making significant progress in the financial industry. Some of the issues there are addressed by our regional solutions. We are examining the things we can do better. We are attempting to replace overseas suppliers with Nigerian local suppliers.

“Heirs Technologies is not here to do things that others are doing, we want to build something that will really change the game and add value to businesses. We are also establishing clear business ethics and transparency in communication of business operations and Implementing sustainable practices, reducing waste and promoting energy efficiency,” Idiong explained.
On other services rendered, Idiong said the company’s IT consulting services were aimed at helping businesses improve their operations, by advising them on how to use Information Technology (IT) effectively.

As the CEO of Heirs Technologies, Idiong expressed enthusiasm about driving Heirs Holdings’ principles of excellence, execution, and enterprise into the tech sector. “We are proud to bring Heirs Holdings’ core values and business approach to the tech sector, leading with excellence, execution, and enterprise. We are committed to bridging an enormous gap in the technology ecosystem by delivering local relevance to a global market and offering cutting-edge solutions to enable our customers to become more competitive”.
