Hillside School Gwarinpa, Abuja has organised its STEM week to educate students on the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The school used to organise the STEM week internally but this year, other schools were invited to participate in the programme.
National coordinator of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Miss Tessy Anayo, expressed delight with this year’s event, saying it was impressive considering the activities featured.
According to her, STEM is very important in Nigeria because it deals with both global and local issues.
“It is the way out because the students have the power to innovate solutions to many issues of the world,” she said.
Miss Anayo urged students to study science-related subjects and courses so that they can bring solutions to problems facing humanity.
She presented certificates to those who performed excellently.
