Speaking to LEADERSHIP shortly after the exercise, Executive Chairman of Yobe State Hisbah Commission, Dr. Yahuza Abubakar said the destruction was in line with the Commission’s mandate to enforce laws that promote decency and protect societal values.

Dr. Yahuza emphasised that alcohol consumption poses a threat to public health and social harmony, and its distribution within the state remains prohibited under existing laws.

He also reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to peaceful coexistence, justice, and societal reform, calling on residents to continue supporting the efforts of Hisbah in maintaining order and morality across the State.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the action followed the state’s laws and Islamic values, which forbids consumption or use of alcohol and other intoxicating substances.
