The late officer was on a Jincheng motorcycle to his house from his duty post when he was hit by a DAF driver, who ran away.

The Niger State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Kumar Tsukwam confirmed the incident saying that within 10 minutes the corps were drafted to the scene.

He said the death was caused by a hit-and-run driver. “The deceased was taken to his relatives while the state commandant NSCDC and his men were also on the ground to hand over the corpse to his relatives,” he added.

The commander said the number of the DAF vehicle was unknown adding that two people were involved in the accident but only the NSCDC was lost.
