Hollywood is set to adapt British author George Orwell’s Animal Farm into a feature animation.
A fable, ‘Animal Farm’ explores themes of authoritarianism, propaganda, corruption and exploitation in a farm, where various species of animal that rebelled against their human owners and oppressors, only to encounter increased oppression, inequality and social injustice by their own kind.
The animation cast include Seth Rogen (The Interview), Steven Buscemi (Once Upon A Time In Mexico), Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things), Laverne Cox (Orange Is The New Black), Oscar winner Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), Woody Harrelson (True Detective), Emmy winner Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Kathleen Turner (Romancing The Stone) and Iman Vellani (Ms Marvel).
A production of Aniventure (Hitpig, Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank) and The Imaginarium, founded by Andy Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish, Animal Farm will be directed by Serkis, is directed by Serkis, produced by Adam Nagle, Dave Rosenbaum, Cavendish and Serkis, and executive produced by Harrelson and Matt Reeves.
