Hoodlums have killed two security guards and inflicted severe wounds on three other persons in a night club in Oba, Idemili-South local government area of Anambra State.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident happened on Sunday night in the club.
The heavily armed hoodlums, source said stormed the night club in search of the owner but were resisted by the security guards at the club from getting at the club’s proprietor who was said to be present in the club at the time.
The gangsters were said to have killed and beheaded one of the security guards and inflicted severe wounds on about three others shooting sporadically.
They were also said to have eventually abducted and took away the owner of the club.
The spokesman of the state police command, deputy superintendent of police, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu confirmed the incident in a telephone interview.
He said that a team of operatives of the state command was immediately despatched to the club but that the hoodlums had escaped before the arrival of the police team.
Tochukwu, however, said that the police team recovered the bodies of those killed and took the injured to the hospital.
Though he said that no arrest had so far been made, the police operatives were carrying out an investigation at the area to make sure that the culprits were arrested and made to face the wrath of the law of the land.
Meanwhile, sources in the area said that the number of those killed during the attack were about seven persons.
