Imo State commissioner for tourism, Barr. Jerry Egemba, has emphasised the pivotal role of the hospitality and tourism industry in enhancing the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR).

The commissioner encouraged hotels and tourist centers across the state to adopt global best practices in guest management aimed in attracting more customers to their various outfits.
According to the release, the commissioner made the remarks at Protea Hotels as a special guest of this year’s Christmas tree.
He submitted that the time has come for growth and sustainability in the hospitality industry and all hands must be on deck so as to realize these objectives.
Egemba lauded the hotel’s initiative to bring guests and clients together during the Christmas season, urging other hotels in the state to follow suit and embrace similar gestures.
The commissioner charged hospitality industries to always put the interest and welfare of their clients as a priority. While indicating that this is with the notion that the customer is the king.
In her comment, the general manager of Protea Hotels, Jemima Odonkor, emphasised the values of kindness, generosity, and the spirit of giving during the festive season.
She expressed gratitude to their clients for their unwavering trust and support throughout the year and submitted that they will continue to do their best in providing prompt and efficient service to their numerous clients.
