This statement is a truism for a United Kingdom resident business entrepreneur and record label owner, Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo, also popularly referred to as Oil Money by those in his social circle.
Without any equivocation, Oil Money, has his parents to thank for exposing him to the best giving him education right from his childhood.
Coming from a humble background in Buguma, Rivers State, south-south Nigeria, Kariboye, who was born on May 21 1981, had his primary and secondary education in Nigeria before providence took him outside the country where he got admitted and graduated from the prestigious London University.
“I thank my parents that I could be exposed to education early in life and this had paid off for me today. My search for knowledge took me to the United Kingdom where I could be proudly called an alumnus of London University. Education has indeed put my mindset in the right perspective and it has also helped me to have a broaden world view which in turn has been adding value to my business ventures,” Oil Money, who has his family living with him in the UK told journalists during a recent interview.
Oil Money fought through life by focusing on what he wanted to become and thank goodness, he could be counted as one of the successful Nigerian billionaires whose chains of business ventures cut across different sectors.
Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo, better known as Oil Money has continued to make impacts with his different chains of businesses and establishments. He is a multifaceted business mogul whose stock-in-trade include real estate, auto sales, oil and gas, and recently, music promotions and record label platform.
No wonder Oil Money is ranked as No.3 among richest Nigerians in 2020 and has also featured prominently on Wikipedia’s Nigerian billionaires’ list for 2020 l.
Oil Money may be living far away in the UK, it is on record that Oil Money has never forgotten his roots and constantly connects with the people and their cultural heritage back home in Nigeria through his various business engagements and diversified interests.
Not one to boast or attribute his status to some unique feats only him could pull, Oil Money says the divine hand of God is solely the reason he succeeded where others failed. “It’s God’s doing, not my power,” Oil Money says
Since childhood, he has always wanted to be great and to be a manager of men, an entrepreneur with a difference. It’s not surprising however that with influence from the likes of Birdman, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Jayz and Puff Daddy, Oil Money has been able to develop himself to be an ‘Oriented Entrepreneur’ with focus in actualizing his dreams.
Drawing from the lessons of his experience, the 40-year-old Kariboye-Igbo offered advice to young people looking up to him as a role model. “Always focus on your goal and dreams. Do not let anyone talk down on you,” Oil Money said.
Oil Money is the founder of Oil Money Records, a record label that deals with signing and raising young talents.
The UK-based business tycoon is now an expertise in the music industry with the aim to make Oil Money Records bigger and influential while producing stars in the industry.
According to Oil Money, Oil Money Record came to existence to make the unknown young artists rise to the stardom by giving them enabling environment to excel in their chosen career. The record label has been managing the development of songs, production of music, and manufacturing of merchandise, creative marketing and distribution of the products it creates.
“Our desired goal is to operate with a high standard of excellence in business organization and effectively manage music licensing and copyright processes, song promotion, royalty collection, and key partnerships around the world,” Oil Money said.
