The Chief Financial Officer, Huawei Technologies Co. Limited. Sabrina Meng, has disclosed that with the emergence of 5G, a lot of transformation and new value creation are being brought into industrial, economic, and social spaces.
Speaking at the opening day of MWC Shanghai 2023 held recently, Huawei’s Meng, who delivered a keynote titled “Embracing 5G transformation,” pointed out that 5G had been in commercial use around the world for four years now, driving new value creation. According to her, across all industries and countless households around the world, 5G is changing the way we work and live, creating tremendous economic, industrial, and social value.
“For consumers, 5G, cloud, and AI have set off a chain reaction, new forms of business are emerging in great quantities, and a multiplier effect is readily clear,” she said.
She stated that science and technology are beginning to move towards large, complex systems that require matching technology to specific scenarios and performing systems engineering.
She stressed further that 5G is fast becoming a component of productive systems in many industries across the world. She further noted that the future belongs to 5G as it is most likely going to give rise to new devices and applications that deliver a more immersive experience.
“Strategic patience, in-depth understanding of industrial scenarios, and ongoing improvements to ROI have given 5G a foothold in industrial applications. 5G is also ushering in a new era of super-connectivity between things, bringing new strength to IoT networks and driving new forms of productivity,” she said.
“It will not only connect people better – it will also create incredible new business opportunities with more targeted support for industrial needs in domains like IoT, sensing, and advanced manufacturing,” she added.
