As Nigerian businesses navigate the ever-expanding digital landscape, where AI-driven operations and soaring data volumes demand greater efficiency, Huawei’s latest offering aims to fortify mission-critical infrastructure.

Speaking at the event, Technical Director of Huawei’s Advanced Solution Group, Naveen Kumar, unveiled the new storage system, highlighting its three key capabilities that aim to revolutionize data management and resilience for businesses across the region.

“The first capability is multi-protocol convergence,” Kumar explained. “Through a shared resource pool and seamless interworking across multiple protocols, the New-Gen OceanStor Dorado achieves maximum resource sharing, allowing flexible block, file, and object service allocation to tackle business uncertainties.”

Additionally, the storage solution adopts a multi-protocol parallel I/O path design, enhancing overall performance. Kumar noted that all three services—SAN, NAS, and object storage—offer consistent enterprise features, including replication and Active-Active deployment, ensuring aunified experience across multiple protocols.

The second major feature, Extreme Resilience, integrates SmartMatrix full-mesh architecture, making the system highly fault-tolerant. It can withstand seven out of eight controller enclosure failures without service disruption, achieving 99.99999 per cent reliability.

“The system also strengthens ransomware protection across SAN and NAS zones, with a detection rate of up to 99.99 per cent,” Kumar stated. He added that intelligent snapshot analysis and synthesis technologies ensure 100 per cent data availability upon recovery, reinforcing data security and integrity.
The third capability, Flashever Technology, enables seamless upgrades from previous-generation devices. Businesses can integrate new-gen controllers online or expand existing systems, building a cross-generation storage cluster without service interruptions.

Huawei’s data storage solutions are widely adopted across multiple industries, including finance, manufacturing, education, and healthcare, serving over 26,000 customers in more than 150 countries. Among them, 53 of the world’s top 100 banks rely on Huawei for enterprise storage, underscoring its industry leadership.

“The New-Gen OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage is poised to become the preferred solution for enterprises seeking high-performance, resilient, and AI-ready storage, accelerating digital and intelligent transformation,” Kumar concluded.
