Huawei has reaffirmed its dedication to spearhead innovative business models that redefine industry productivity, particularly, in the media sector, with the introduction of its cloud solutions designed to enhance media efficiency.
This statement was made during a media workshop titled ‘Unlocking New Efficiency with Huawei Cloud,’ which was organised for media professionals in Lagos.
One of the leading global ICT solution provider firms has emphasised that, in the present era, the Internet is transforming the media and entertainment industries.
Huawei Cloud has buttressed its relentless commitment to increasing the efficiency of digital content production, delivering exceptional user experiences, and fostering collaboration with industry customers and partners.
In his remarks, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Tunde Rahman, praised Huawei for its ICT expertise and digital efficiency, even as the Nigerian media industry is dynamic, with a transition to digital platforms from traditional media.
To this end, companies like Huawei are driving the transformation in the Nigeria media scene recognised as a vibrant and dynamic one, with various private and state media outlets, as the industry is shifting towards digital platforms due to low purchasing power and the rise of new media.
Hence, Huawei is supporting the government in delivering reliable technology for intervention programs as well as collaboration with senior journalists and industry players that can help combat corruption and educate youth in digital media.
Director of News at TVC Communications, Stella Din-Jacob, highlighted the evolution of Nigeria’s broadcast industry due to technology and digitalisation.
The industry now includes both traditional and digital platforms, facing challenges like regulation, piracy, infrastructure, and funding gaps.
Despite these challenges, she stressed that technological advancements, internet access, and a growing middle-class offer opportunities for growth and innovation in line with global trends. Huawei Cloud technology is expected to further enhance content creation, distribution, and commercialization in the industry, emphasising the need for continuous adaptation and investment in human capital and infrastructure.
“The challenge for practitioners and proprietors is to always adapt and make necessary investments in human capital development and infrastructure so that the industry can keep reinventing itself,” she said.
