An Islamic cleric, Sheikh Muhajjadina Sani, who also serves as the Chairman of the Association of African Astrologers, has stated that as long as the government allows protests against hunger and the high cost of living in Nigeria, it will not achieve its goals.

He advised the federal government to use reconciliation and diplomacy rather than force to halt the protests over the cost of living. The cleric made these remarks during an interaction with journalists in Abuja, where he emphasised the need for the government to develop strategies to prevent the planned protests.

“We have foresight that if this protest takes place, it will be a bigger threat than anticipated. Do not allow the protest to happen. If it does, all the goals of the Nigerian authorities will be unattainable. Even if they secretly wish to support or allow the protest, their aspirations will not be fulfilled,” he said.

“We have examined Nigeria’s astrological charts and seen that while it will endure serious problems, it will not disintegrate. It will not follow the path of destroyed countries,” he continued.

“Nigerians are now awake. Therefore, using military force or any other security apparatus to suppress them from protesting will only lead to loss of life and property without achieving success,” he warned.

The cleric also addressed Nigerians, saying, “Anything not achieved through dialogue cannot be achieved by other means. According to our astrological analysis, the government will not benefit from this protest. However, the poor might gain some freedom due to the protest. There is a goal they can achieve: if the protest takes place, it could ease their lives, but it will worsen the government’s situation.”

“We call on the poor to understand that while they might gain some freedom, they will not be able to meet all their needs.

If their demands are met even partially, it will be a small percentage—two or three per cent out of ten. The remaining demands will go unmet, and the government’s objectives will fail.”

He said, “We do not support the destruction of property if the protest happens. Our investigation indicates that if this is allowed to start, only divine intervention can stop it. If possible, do not allow the protest to take place. We also advise the citizens to pray and wish the country well. Let’s embrace prayer,” he emphasised.
