The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has summoned heads of various security and intelligence agencies to a meeting in Abuja.
The meeting which may not be unconnected with the ongoing nationwide protest already has the Chiefs of Army, Navy and Air Force in attendance.
Others at the meeting include the Inspector General of Police, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Directors-General of the Department of State Services, National Intelligence Agency and the Chief of Defence Intelligence.
The rest are the Controller General of Corrections, Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
LEADERSHIP reports that hunger protests have turned violent with some demonstrators calling for regime change in some part of the country.
Some protesters also stormed the streets flying the Russian flags, a development the security authorities have described as treasonable.
