‎‎“I Did Not Kick Against Marriage, I Only Supported Polygamy” – GehGeh Speaks On Staging Wedding To Test Public Reaction

‎‎Content creator and relationship commentator, Emmanuel Obruste, popularly known as GehGeh, has revealed that the wedding ceremony that recently sparked widespread reactions online was staged as a publicity stunt and social experiment.

‎‎A viral video released last weekend showed GehGeh and a woman dressed in matching burgundy traditional outfits in what appeared to be a wedding ceremony, prompting speculation that the outspoken influencer had secretly tied the knot.

‎‎The footage also drew criticism from fans and fellow content creators, many of whom accused him of contradicting his long-held views on relationships and marriage. Even members of his family questioned why they were not invited to the supposed ceremony.

‎‎Addressing the controversy in an interview, the content creator said the event was never intended to be a real wedding.

‎‎“We organised everything as a normal promo. And so far, apart from the fact that we purposely did it, I still wanted to get the public’s reactions,” he said in Pidgin English.

‎‎According to him, the stunt was also aimed at correcting what he described as widespread misconceptions about the teachings of his “GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University”.

‎‎“Some people have a misunderstanding about my GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University. When you see some people, the major thing they have been saying is that GehGeh told them not to get married, but I got married,” he said.

‎‎GehGeh insisted that he has never discouraged people from getting married outright, explaining that his position has always been in favour of polygamy rather than monogamy.

‎“I did not kick against marriage. I said, ‘Do not marry, and even if you must marry, go for polygamy.’ This is because polygamy is the path that guides a man’s heart from heartbreak,” he said.

‎‎Explaining his controversial stance, the content creator argued that having multiple wives reduces the likelihood of emotional manipulation by one partner.

‎‎Because when you are with different women, it will be hard for one woman to manipulate you. And this was what our forefathers practised. That is the core principle of my university,” he added.

‎GehGeh’s clarification comes days after the viral wedding videos fuelled intense debate across social media, with many questioning whether the influencer had abandoned the relationship philosophy that has become central to his online persona.
