I Will Probe My Predecessor – Gov. Kefas

The Governor of Taraba state Dr. Agbu Kefas on Saturday said he was ready to probe the eight years financial activities of his predecessor, former Governor Darius Ishaku.

Kefas stated this while interacting with journalists at government house in Jalingo, Taraba state.

The governor said he was observing and reading carefully the handover notes from the recent past administration over its financial activities.

When answering questions from journalists, he said there was no need to set up Judicial Commission of Enquiry to probe the activities, since the State Auditors are already working at the state ministries level.

“We will probe the activities of the recent past administration where is necessary, we shall not hesitate to ask questions, we know there are contacts, we know some were commission.

“We shall look into the projects, government is a continuous process, though we are going to look inward before we commence work on the uncompleted projects that were commission.

LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the former governor Darius Ishaku left a debt of not less than N200 billion which was inherited by the Kefas’s administration, LEADERSHIP check also reliably gathered that over 92 percent of the projects commission by the recent past governor in the state were uncompleted.
