Malagi stated this when he received the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Niger State Council on a thank you visit at his Minna residence led by its chairman, Comrade Abu Nmodu.

He said, “After the primaries, the support I got from the people of Niger State has motivated and encouraged me to remain in politics. We cannot go back and I will have to remain in politics.”

The publisher said he has no enemy within or outside politics, adding that he has continued to impress on his supporters to maintain peace and harmony.

“I don’t want any of my supporters to take laws into their hands… we should be law abiding citizens so that together we can make Niger State great again,” he added.

Malagi said he is open to constructive criticism, adding however that journalists in the state protected him as one of their own against stories aimed to malign him or smear his reputation.

He said, “I am proud to be a publisher and with this I am working with journalists. Therefore, my immediate constituency is journalism and whatever I am doing for NUJ it is like doing it for myself. I will always do more for the union.”

Speaking earlier, the chairman, NUJ Niger State Council, Comrade Abu Nmodu expressed appreciation of journalists in the state to the aspirant for the donation of a bus to the union.
