Edo State governorship Aspirant under the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister Kenneth Imansuangnon, yesterday said he remained the candidate to beat if he emerges the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming Edo governorship election.
Imansuagbon, popularly called the ‘Rice man’ spoke in a chat with reporters in Benin City on the sidelines of the colloquium and Hall of Fame programme of the Edo Policy Roundtable in association with Mudiame University, Irrua, held in honour of the national chairman of Labour Party (LP), Barrister Julius Abure.
He said he would bring his passion, experience, capacity, love, doggedness and consistency in over 20 years to bear in his desire to govern Edo State.
He said; “With due respect to all the other aspirants, none of them has my acceptability, expansion, love for the people. Edo people know who loves them. Since 2003 I have shown my love for Edo people.
“I visited the Otaru of Auchi recently and he said ‘the prayer you need is the good works you do.’
“Let all the aspirants in the three major political parties show their good works to the people in the last 20 years. Where have they been in the last 20 years?.
“How have they affected education? How have they affected feeding? How have they affected security? How have they affected families? I have consistently.
“I pray that Labour Party demons should not enter them. They will give me the ticket. It is over for PDP and APC. They know. The people are with me. The only way you will check Oshiomhole, Tinubu and Obaseki is through the people. There is no other way.
“Can I overspend Tinubu and Oshiomhole? Can I overspend Obaseki and Ogie? I cannot. The only strength I have is God Almighty, my father in heaven and the people. The people know those who loves them.
“I have shown capacity, love, passion. I have given everything. God bless my wife and my kids who have supported me all this while. Edo people have been with me but the godfathers have said no. But this time with Peter Obi I hope for a free and fair primary.
“When I get a free and fair primary it is all over for the two political parties(APC and PDP).”
