The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has announced the appointment of Amb. Dr. Bishop Olaoluwa Kitan Ogundare as Egypt Country Director.
This is as the association will be hosting the 80th Anniversary of UN Charter Day in Cairo, Egypt.
This significant event, according to a statement signed by the International Spokesman of IAWPA, Amb Emmanuel Nkweke, was aimed at commemorating the founding principles of the United Nations and reaffirm global commitment to peace, security, and cooperation.
The statement emphasised the importance of the UN Charter Day, which it said, is a momentous occasion that highlights the importance of international cooperation and the pursuit of peace and sustainable development.
“As the world grapples with complex challenges, the UN Charter remains a beacon of hope, guiding nations towards a more harmonious and equitable world,” it stated.
On Amb. Dr. Kitan Ogundare’s appointment, the statement said it was a testament to his tireless efforts in promoting peace and sustainable development. “His dedication to the propagation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has made a significant impact, inspiring individuals and communities to work towards a better future.”
IAWPA enjoys a Special Consultative Status under the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations since 2019. This status underscores its commitment to advancing the SDGs and promoting peace, sustainable development, and cooperation globally.
“Our organisation has benefited peoples and communities worldwide, and we look forward to continuing our work in partnership with the UN and other stakeholders,” the statement stressed.
As Egypt Country Director, Amb. Kitan Ogundare will lead efforts to host a successful 80th Anniversary of UN Charter Day celebration in Egypt.
