The International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has announced that it will commence the installation of 774 water borehole projects across the 774 Local Government Areas in the country.
The announcement was made Sunday evening by the International Spokesman of the Association Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony of the first project which will take place at Omoku town headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Amb. Nkweke said the ceremony is in fulfilment of its desire to contribute to the fulfilment of goal 6 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDG.
Amb. Nkweke who described the project as a monumental project which will affect the lives of the people, said the association is determined to fulfilling the associations desire to contribute it’s quota towards clean water and sanitation.
He praised the efforts of members who are keying to the vision which the association conceptualised last year during it’s celebration of the World Water Day.
The association specifically hailed the Africa Director of the Association Amb. Johnnie Metchie and Amb. Clinton Walaka describing them as assets to humanity.
“We as an international peace advocacy body with Special Consultative Status under the United Nations Economic and Social Council ECOSOSC since 2019 are determined to contribute our quota to realising the SDG programme of the United Nations and proudly wish to hail the efforts of our Africa Director Amb. Johnnie Metchie as well as one of our Eminent Peace Ambassadors Amb. Clinton Walaka for their support for this project. We are also calling on other well meaning Ambassadors to key into this noble project which will touch the lives of the people” the statement said.
