The International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has given reasons why it will be honouring Mr. Okam Ezieme with an appointment/ award of Eminent Peace Ambassador EPA.
The International Spokesman of the association Amb Emmanuel Nkweke in a press release to media men said the commitment of Ezieme to the ideals of the SDGs as seen specifically in SDG one, two and twelve which talks specifically on NO POVERTY, ZERO HUNGER AND RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION necessitated his nomination for the appointment.
“Mr. Okam Ezieme is a young Nigerian who has been touching and creating impacts on the lives of Nigerians especially the women and young ones. Recall that he has supported farmers with farm tools to encourage them in their farming activities aimed at boosting food productions. He also travelled to Gosa community in Abuja where his non governmental organisation gave out food items to those struggling to feed themselves and their families. Aside that, the Oliven Development Initiative which he oversees, showed care to Gosa community where they took medical cares to the community with the objectives of detecting and treating those suffering from tuberculosis. This he did with partnership from the federal ministry of health. These are the kind of persons Nigeria need and we are really proud to add him to our rising list of Eminent Peace Ambassadors” the statement said.
He said IAWPA was committed to promoting individuals and organisations like Oliven Development Initiative that impact on humanity hence it’s decision to honour young people over the globe especially in Africa who are impacting on communities and on humans. The association said it is impressed with the fact that Mr Okam has set a goal of seeing an African economy that is self sufficient especially in the area of food sustainability which has been his core interest. It also said it will recommend his activities to various governments within the African sub region with the view of seeing that he gets the needed governmental support to promote his idea for a better and sustainable African economy.
He said the association which has a Special Consultative Status under the United Nations Economic and Social Council ECOSOSC since 2019 will officially induct him as a Peace Ambassador on June 26th 2023 when it will join world leaders to celebrate the international Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
