He disclosed this as he joined the people of the state, customers, and stakeholders in the aviation industry across Nigeria to celebrate the airline’s 5th anniversary at the Emerald event centre, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo, the state capital, at the weekend.

The governor praised his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel, for the vision and congratulated the management and staff for sustaining the operation momentum by ensuring excellent service delivery for five uninterrupted years without any mishap.

Responding, IbomAir’s MD/CEO, Capt. Udom, said in his 50 years of operation in the aviation industry, the last five years with IbomAir had been the most celebrated, affirming that the airline which started with a five-man team had grown to a 656-man staff strength among several other economic values it had added to the state.

Udom said with the smart terminal building at the Victor Attah International Airport set for operation, IbomAir intends to sustain and reciprocate the goodwill and support it had enjoyed from Akwa Ibom people and Nigerians in its first five foundational years with expansions to cover critical West and North African destinations, with ease of domestic and international flight interface.
