The Alumni Association of the Intensive Bible School – Bible Teaching Ministry (IBS-BTM) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its alma mater through landmark development projects, scholarship schemes, and a robust alumni network aimed at fostering community, mentorship, and spiritual growth.
Speaking during the first anniversary celebration of the association over the weekend in Abuja, the President of IBS-BTM Alumni, Dr. Balogun Bamidele, emphasized the need for collective action to uplift the institution that has shaped their spiritual journeys and ministerial callings.
“We’re looking at executing landmark projects, including securing land and building a permanent structure for the school. We also want to provide scholarships to underprivileged students and support them to learn of Christ,” Bamidele said.
He further revealed that efforts were underway to boost alumni engagement through outreach to members in Nigeria and the diaspora.
Already, membership has grown from 91 to 117 registered alumni, with 47 now paying monthly dues. Over 500 alumni have been contacted via bulk SMS, and more than 200 are active on the association’s WhatsApp platform.
The association’s achievements within its first year include registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, the opening of a corporate bank account, constitution of a Board of Trustees and Directors, publication of over 200 copies of its constitution, and the hosting of empowerment programs such as the Mental Emancipation Seminar and musical concerts.
Vice President of the Association, Pastor Mark Aganyi, commended the unity and dedication of members.
“This anniversary is more than a celebration; it reflects our commitment to vision, mentorship, and service. We are not just old students—we are a family bonded by shared purpose,” he stated.
The association has also supported members’ businesses via social media, extended compassion to those grieving, and celebrated milestones among members with gifts and visits.
In a passionate address, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Adoyi Michael Agbo, hailed the alumni’s accomplishments and urged for deeper involvement.
“This is the beginning of a new era. Let us write our names in the sands of time with projects that will outlive us. Alumni should be ambassadors of this great institution,” he said.
Dr. Agbo stressed the importance of increased participation and the need to expand the alumni footprint.
“We’ve produced hundreds over the years. We must do more to reconnect and engage them.”
The anniversary, tagged “Equipped To Serve”, featured the investiture of the Board of Directors, health talks, workshop training sessions, and moments of fellowship. It served as a rallying point for alumni to recommit to the institution’s growth.
As the IBS-BTM Alumni Association looks ahead, leaders emphasized the importance of paying dues, attending meetings, volunteering, and initiating projects that will shape a legacy of faith, excellence, and community development.
