Idoma Carnival Has Added N3bn To Benue Economy In 12 Years —Organisers

Three billion naira has been added to the Benue State economy in the last 12 years through the annual Idoma International Carnaval.

The revelation was made yesterday by the vice president of Idoma International Carnaval, Henry Ipole, while addressing dignitaries at the ongoing carnival in Otukpo.

He said over the 12 years of organising the event in Otukpo, the local the economy has been impacted mainly in the hospitality, transport, security, entertainment, and fashion sectors and by other local vendors.

Ipole said the carnival has become a veritable source of revenue for many entrepreneurs in the state.

He stated that the event has become a source for talent hunts as notable musicians, comedians, and other entertainers have groomed local talents discovered at the carnival and are doing well in Lagos and other parts of the world.
