The inspector-general of police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun has decorated newly promoted senior police officers with their new ranks
The officers decorated after their promotion included 12 commissioners of police (CPs), who were promoted to the rank of assistant inspectors general of police (AIG) and 16 deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) who were promoted to the substantive rank of CP.
Force PRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a statement last night that this is a sequel to the recent promotion approved by the Police Service Commission at the request of the IGP and a continuation of the innovative welfare packages implemented by the IGP, which has recorded the most promotions in the Force within the shortest time frame.
Among the newly decorated officers are AIGs Emmanuel Adegbola Aina, Enyinnaya Adiogu, Ronke Nurat Okunade, Johnson Oluwole Adenola, Hassan Audu Yabanet, Chinedu Oko, Aminu Baba Raji, Omolara Oloruntola, Akoh Benedict Gabriel, Tijani Ahmadu Abdullahi (rtd), Mohammed Usman, and Bretet Emmanuel.
In addition, the decorated officers from the rank of deputy commissioners of police to commissioners of police are CPs Sheik Mohammed Danko, Abiola Reuben Olutunde, Charles Dike, Victor Erivwode, Nnanna Oji Ama, Micheal Falade, Yakubu Dankaro, Gabriel Elaigwu, Emefile Tony Osifo, Umar Ahmed Chuso, Aina Adesola, Uduak Uta, Sylvester Edogbanya, Musa Muhammed Sani, Omoikhudu Philip, and Innocent Anagbado.
While congratulating the newly promoted officers, the inspector-general of police charged them with embracing innovative approaches to policing, gaining public trust, and strengthening collaborations with the community they serve while respecting citizens’ rights.
