Following the promotions of senior police officers, the inspector-general of police (IGP), Olutunji Disu, has approved the redeployment of assistant inspectors-general of police (AIGs) across key departments and formations of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the directive, a wireless message titled “Most Immediate” AIG Ado Emmanuel has been posted to the Department of Research and Planning at Force Headquarters, while AIG Joseph Eribo is assigned to the Armament Unit.
Former FCT commissioner of police, AIG Miller Dantawaye, will now oversee operations and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche has been deployed to Training and Development.
Also, AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo has been moved to the Accounts and Budget Department, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed was posted to Zone 15 Command in Maiduguri.
AIG Dankombo Morris has been assigned to Zone 4 Command in Makurdi, and AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14 Command in Katsina.
Others affected by the redeployment include AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, who has been redeployed to Legal Services, and AIG Ahmed Musa, who will head Community Policing.
Former Lagos commissioner of police, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has been appointed to lead Zone 2 Command in Lagos; AIG Simeon Akpanudom has been posted to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos.
AIG Haruna Olufemi has also been redeployed to the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters.
