The 7th edition of the Zenith Inter-School Swimming Competition is billed to start at the Ikoyi Club 1938 on Saturday May 4.
A total of 15 schools are expected to converge at the elite club for the annual event in which the primary schools will compete on May 4 and the secondary schools on May 11.
The group managing director of Zenith Bank, Ebenezer Onyeagwu, said the outfit was always proud to associate with the youth.
“Many of our sports events are aimed at catching them young and this swimming event is one of such events. We expect the kids to enjoy themselves and we promise to make it better every year,” Onyeagwu said.
Chairman of the club’s tennis section, Ikedichi Kanu, said arrangements have been made for the youth swimming competition in the past weeks.
He noted that the inter-school meet has produced many budding talents in the past editions
Kanu said; “We are always very excited to see the young one compete in the pool. This event will still produce champions for Nigeria in the years ahead because they always display so much skills in the competition.
“Our sponsors, Zenith Bank, have been strongly behind us and we thank them for the faith they have in the development of swimming and also in the partnership they have with us.”
The swimming section boss also noted that Ariyo Omowanle will head the Coaching and Technical official team for the competition organized for Primary and secondary schools.
In the 2023 edition of the Zenith Inter School Swimming, Grange School emerged champions in the Primary and Secondary school event of the competition.
