Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has said he would devote his second term in office to consolidate on the foundation he laid four years ago with a policy of inclusive governance.
The governor who said his administration may not have met the expectations of every citizen in the state promised that he would work harder to improve the living conditions of the people in the next four years.
Governor stated this yesterday during the special church service for his inauguration and that of his deputy, Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, for a second term, held at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta.
“We have fulfilled our promises to the people. Our legacies are all over the state. We have been just, fair and equitable to all. We have not developed any part of this state to the detriment of the others.
“I want to thank our people for believing in us and entrusting us with their mandates. As you have renewed the mandates, I promise that I will not betray the trust. We will continue to build on the foundation we built. We will be more inclusive and we will keep our promises.”
He expressed the undeterred commitment of his administration to serve with more vigour in the second term, commending the people for supporting his party in the presidential election despite the same religion ticket brouhaha.
Earlier in his sermon, the diocesan bishop of Egba Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Adekunle, called on the Nigerian leaders to be just and fair to all manner of people, as they are God’s representatives on earth
