Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has vowed to reopen all Nigerian borders if elected president of the country in the 2023 election.
Addressing a large crowd of people in Katsina during his campaign visit, Atiku, lamented the general insecurity in the country and Katsina State in particular which he promised to fix.
According to him, the spate of banditry by the criminal elements, attacking rural communities in the state with impunity has created an atmosphere of misgivings and palpable tension which is shaping the people’s political decisions to vote PDP to power.
He said the entire state is disillusioned with the daily incidences of kidnapping, killings, violent attacks and animal rustling, resulting in the death of several people and over N300million paid as ransom in the state.
He reaffirmed that his government will create an environment that would provide employment and fulfilment to the youth and women through education, mentorship, vocational training, technology and entrepreneurship initiatives.
He reiterated his commitment to partner with relevant partners to prioritise education and socioeconomic activities of the country.
