Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for their heartfelt goodwill messages on the occasion of his 59th birthday anniversary, describing the President’s tribute as profoundly humbling and deeply moving.
In a personal statement titled “A Message of Gratitude”, Shettima reflected on the outpouring of love, prayers, and kind wishes he received from across Nigeria and beyond, noting that the true measure of a man lies not in power or monuments, but in the thoughts and affection of others.
“Mr. President, your heartfelt message, steeped in warmth and comradeship, has touched me profoundly. This feeling, as you well know, is mutual,” the Vice President said.
He described the bond he shares with the President as one anchored in loyalty and service, and pledged never to take it for granted.
According to him, serving alongside President Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda was both an honour and a lifelong lesson in courage and statesmanship.
“I have watched you shoulder the burden of difficult choices at critical moments, steering our nation through turbulent waters into a harbour of stability that promises abundance,” Shettima stated.
The Vice President also extended appreciation to state governors, lawmakers, ministers, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, and Nigerians from all walks of life who sent goodwill messages and prayers, describing their support as a source of strength and a reminder of the sacred responsibility that public service entails.
“As I meditate on these tokens of goodwill, I am renewed in purpose and fortified in spirit,” he added.
Shettima affirmed that, like President Tinubu, he remains convinced that Nigeria’s greatest days lie ahead, and with unity, clarity of vision, and shared commitment, the country will overcome its current challenges and build a secure and prosperous future for all.
“Thank you all, and may God continue to bless our dear country,” the statement concluded.
