I‘m Not PDP South East Presidential Campaign Coordinator –Ihedioha

Immediate past governor of Imo State, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, has denied his alleged appointment as the Coordinator of the Presidential campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party for the southeast.

Media aide to Ihedioha, Chibuike Onyeukwu made the disclosure in a statement issued on Wednesday, following congratulatory messages across social media handles in the state.

He said “Chief Emeka Ihedioha is certainly not the Coordinator for the Southeast. But as a matter of fact, he was only asked to speak for the zone at the inaugural meeting of the PDP Presidential campaign council held few days ago in Abuja”.

Further, it read “His interest, attention and focus is to put Imo PDP together with a view to harnessing its resources for the upcoming elections”.

He called on people to ignore any purported report of such appointment.

Supporters of Ihedioha had taken to their social media handles to congratulate him on the supposed appointment following pictures of the meeting.

Meanwhile, the PDP has not named anyone for the position yet.
