Embattled immediate-past governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, yesterday said he was prepared to answer any query regarding his stewardship.
Ahmed, who was the governor of the state between 2011-2019, is standing trial before the Federal High Court, sitting in Ilorin for a 12- count charge bordering on alleged mismanagement of N10bn public funds.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), last Friday, preferred the charges against the former governor who was later admitted to N50m bail by the court.
In a statement he personally signed, a copy of which was made available to LEADERSHIP, Ahmed said, “I want to reaffirm my preparedness to answer any legitimate query or question regarding my stewardship in the state,” the former governor said.
“In or out of government, I shall make myself available for the growth, development, and well-being of our state.”

He said that he has absolute confidence that the judiciary remains the last hope for the sustenance of democracy and justice for the people.
Ahmed also expressed appreciation to Kwarans, especially the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for standing firm for “the truth while his undeserved ordeal lasted. “
