Imo Diaspora Hails Uzodimma Over CON Award, PGF Chair

Imo Diaspora Support for Governor Hope Uzodimma has hailed the award of prestigious Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) to the governor of Imo State, senator Hope Uzodimma.

In a congratulatory message to the governor and made available to journalists from Finland, yesterday, the coordinator and convener of Imo Diaspora for Governor Hope Uzodimma, Ochiagha Nnanna Okere also celebrated the governor on his emergence as the chairman of the umbrella body of all governors in Nigeria elected under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) known as the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF).

The group with headquarters in Finland also noted that on Saturday, May 27, 2023 “your excellency senator Hope Uzodimma, the executive governor of Imo State was honoured with the highest award in Rivers State, the Grand Service Stars of Rivers State (GSSRS) in recognition of your contributions to the unity and progress of the nation.”

Describing governor Uzodimma as the game changer who has revolutionized not only governance in Imo State and a shining example of what is possible in the South East,  the group said he is a national asset that is getting the recognition that he deserved.

The congratulatory message by the Imo Diaspora Support for Governor Hope Uzodimma reads in part, “On Saturday 27 May 2023, your excellency senator Hope Uzodimma, the executive governor of Imo State was honoured with the highest award in Rivers State, the Grand Service Stars of Rivers State (GSSRS) in recognition of your contributions to the unity and progress of the nation.

 

“You have also been honoured with the prestigious Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) award by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

 

“Your fellow progressive governors under the aegis of Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) have also elected you to led the governors of the ruling party. These awards and election are no doubt testimonies of your leadership capacity and demonstration of appreciation of your contributions to the growth and development of not only Imo, but also Nigeria in general.

 

“Congratulations to your excellency for the well-deserved recognitions. You have changed the game in Imo State and the whole nation has taken notice. Once again, congratulations!”

 

The convener of the group also hailed Uzodimma’s infrastructural development of Imo State through the provision of roads and other projects, noting that in an unprecedented fit, Uzodimma built 46 roads in his first year in office and has continued that development trajectory ever since.
