Imo State commander of the Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service (NHFSS), Dr Fabian Onyebuchi Iwuoha has commended all security agencies in the state for their impressive and outstanding performance in the last general election.

Iwuoha who gave the commendation while addressing newsmen shortly after the April general meeting of officers and men of the outfit held at the state command headquarters, Owerri noted that there was relative peace and tranquility in the state unlike in some states of the federation where wanton destruction of lives and properties took the centre stage while the exercise lasted.

He also commended the security agencies and residents of the state for their collaboration with his men before, during and after the polls saying “we deployed our men to all the local government areas and polling units and I am happy to announce that no single negative report was given against us.”

Iwuoha said the meeting was put in place to appreciate, evaluate and encourage men of the command to strengthen their commitment, devotion and dedication to duty, even as he enjoined residents in the state to remain peaceful and law abiding and to be mindful of the consequences of going against the law.

Also, the commander (logistics) representing Imo in the South East Zone – S.O Frank disclosed that the command had trained a good number of individuals for possible absorption by security agencies to fight crime in the forests and cities in the state.

Frank said, “We are combatant ready and we have gallant men to tackle such crimes as armed robbery, kidnapping and ritual killings.”

He pleaded with the state government to assist the command with the provision of operational vehicles, arms such as pump action and double barrel guns to enable them to penetrate the bushes and fish out criminals.

Similarly, the assistant commander Owerri Senatorial Zone, Engr Sam Oguoma, recalled that the state was relatively calm and peaceful during the polls partly because the state command of the outfit liaised with sister security agencies to achieve this.
