Imo State Commander of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) Prince Fabian Iwuoha has felicitated with the Muslim community at Sallah and charged them to devote more time to pray for the unity of Nigeria.
Iwuoha appealed to the faithful to reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad as they centered on love for one another and peaceful coexistence.
The commander said these while addressing newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
He stressed that peace is paramount for global development, including Nigeria and called for unity of purpose to wade off the threat of insecurity in different parts of the country.
Iwuoha highlighted the resilience, dedication, patience and self-sacrifice of Muslims as true believers in the teachings of Prophet Mohammed.
The commander advised them to hold tenaciously to those positive attributes which their faith holds in high esteem.
He said despite all odds, God has been kind, gracious and merciful to Nigeria and Nigerians and called on all Muslim faithful (as well as their Christian counterparts) to remain steadfast in their prayers for a one peaceful, united and prosperous country.
“We do not have any other country to call our own but Nigeria. Therefore, it behooves all of us, irrespective of our faith, to ensure that Nigeria is made the envy of other countries.”
He noted, however, that it has also provided an opportunity for the living to reflect deeply on the awesomeness of God Almighty in the face of challenges and appreciate Him for what He represents in our lives.
He congratulated them, and assured of the command’s preparedness to protect the lives and property of all residents, in line with the constitutional oath of office taken for that purpose.
He commended the commander-general of NHFSS, Dr Joshua Wole Osatimehin, for his doggedness and fatherly disposition in the discharge of their duties.
