Prof. Chris Imumolen, the youngest presidential candidate in the 2023 General Election and now the National Chairman of the Accord Party, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the initiative to hold a National Youth Confab.

He emphasised the importance of choosing credible and competent delegates from across various spheres of life in Nigeria.

Prof. Imumolen stated that the individuals selected to lead and participate in this important conference must be youths who have demonstrated excellence and competence in their respective careers, irrespective of their political, religious, or ethnic affiliations. He stressed that the proposed confab should not be treated as a party conference, but as a true national assembly focused on addressing pressing issues affecting Nigeria’s youth, who make up over 60% of the country’s population.

“This confab should not be seen as another opportunity to reward political loyalists,” Prof. Imumolen remarked. “Rather, it should involve the selection of innovative, dynamic, and forward-thinking youths—critics and advocates alike—who are committed to drafting a progressive path for the Nigerian youth.”

He also underscored the urgency of ensuring that the outcomes of the confab are implemented swiftly to address the concerns and aspirations of Nigeria’s young population.
