The Generation Next Campaign Council has called for the immediate arrest of the Plateau State publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr John Akans.

Reacting to a press statement issued by Akans threatening the governorship election tribunal, spokesman of the APC campaign council, Shittu Bamaiyi noted that his outburst is not surprising because a fortnight ago the PDP openly disparaged and ridiculed the president of the Court of Appeal for no reason.

According to him, it is probably because the PDP went scot-free that the likes of John Akans could muster the courage to say that there would be crisis if the governorship election petition tribunal in the state gives any judgement contrary to their interest.

Shittu pointed out that since the outcome of the governorship election, the general mood in the state is that of grief and anguish noting that even the half-hearted celebration by the PDP has continued to remain unnoticed.

He stated that it would be a total disservice and invitation to anarchy for an individual to be allowed to sit in the comfort of his room and be issuing unwarranted threats to an important institution like the judiciary without any reprimand or arrest.

The campaign council spokesman described as mere rantings, the statement that the PDP lawyers are fully prepared to rubbish the APC governorship petition.

He wondered where the lawyers were, when the PDP disgracefully lost all its election cases right from the court of first instance up to the Supreme Court.
