India Sees Decline In Active Cases

India on Sunday (January 22) continues to witness declining trend in active cases and number of deaths. The data mentioned below is as per official website.

Maharashtra on Saturday reported 22 COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 81,37,045, the state health department said. The death toll remained unchanged at 1,48,420 as no fresh COVID-19 fatality was reported in the state.As on January 22, 2023 at 8 am, total number of active cases are 1,960, discharged cases are 4,41,49,228 and deaths are 5,30,733. COVID-19 Vaccination as on 22 January 2023, 08:00 IST (GMT+5:30) is 2,20,28,05,319. A total of 3,84,206 people have been vaccinated in a day.

No COVID-19 case or fatality was reported in Chhattisgarh on Saturday, which kept the tally and toll unchanged at 11,77,773 and 14,146, respectively, a health official said.

There was no rise in the recovery count either, which stood at 11,63,620, leaving the state with seven active cases, he added. So far, 1,88,67,271 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the state, including 970 during the day, a government release said.
