Over the weekend, a fire razed four houses at the Senior Staff Quarters of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) in Gadau.
LEADERSHIP learnt that the fire broke out at about 2pm on Saturday. It burnt down the entire houses, destroying property worth millions of naira.
The affected staff include Dr. Hamma Mohammed of the Faculty of Education, Malam Bello Adamu Yakubu of Physiology Department and Malam Mukhtar Mansur, Faculty of Arts.
Confirming the incident to our reporter, the university’s public relations officer, Auwal Hassan, said no lives were lost and no physical injuries were recorded from the fire incident.
He expressed the sympathy of the management of the university for the affected families and prayed for them to find strength and resilience to overcome this loss.
Hassan said university management was committed to providing support and assistance to those affected.
He commended the prompt response of security and fire service from Azare, which ensured that the situation was brought under control without any loss of life or injury.
