Inferno Razes 40 Shops In Kano

A total of 40 shops worth millions of naira have been destroyed in a fire outbreak on Tuesday night in Kumbotso local government area of Kano metropolis.

No life is confirmed to have been lost in the incident, which occurred at a shopping complex.

Some eyewitnesses said almost 40 shops in the premises adjacent to Zawaciki Housing Estate were razed by the inferno.

One of the victims, Musa Ahmad, told newsmen that affected shops included provision stores, cement shops, POS outlets, and many others.

It took the efforts of the men of the State Fire Service with three trucks of water to extinguish the fire.

The State Fire Service, through its public relations officer, Saminu Abdullah, confirmed the incident. He requested for more time to investigate and give details of the ugly incident.
