Insecurity: ECOWAS To Hold 4th Retreat Of Representative C’tee

The Economic Community of West  African States (ECOWAS) will hold the fourth (4th) retreat of the ECOWAS Permanent Representative Committee (PRC) with the theme “Peace and Security Challenges in a Changing Region”.

A statement issued on Friday by the Communications Division of the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja, noted that thee-week event will hold in Lagos, Nigeria from 6th – 11th June 2022.

The objectives of the Committee Meeting are to review the decisions of the 3rd PRC retreat and its accomplishments, discuss regional security sector governance issues, strategize on maximizing PRC diplomatic engagements and elaborate on key ECOWAS programmes and projects in the region.

It is expected that a report of the key recommendations and decisions made at the retreat will be prepared and adopted at the end of the meeting on Friday 10th June 2022.

Participants expected at the workshop include staff of the ECOWAS Commission, ECOWAS Permanent Representatives, and officials of International Development Partners and Key Stakeholders across the region, the statement added.
