The Kano State Government has concluded plans to reopen seven toll gates on major entry routes into the state as part of efforts to curb insecurity and monitor vehicular movement.

The Commissioner for Housing Development, Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, disclosed this during the handover of the project sites to contractors in Kano.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry’s Director of public enlightenment, Adamu Abdullahi, the commissioner said the decision was aimed at strengthening the state’s security framework through improved surveillance of vehicles entering the metropolis.

According to him, the toll gates will be located along Daura Road, Katsina Road, Gwarzo Road, Zaria Road, Maiduguri Road, Hadejia Road and Sa’adatu Rimi axis.

He noted that the project would not only enhance security monitoring but also contribute to the state’s socio-economic development.
