Akinlade stressed that this followed the trends of attacks on security personnel, security formations, critical national assets and infrastructures.

The Commandant stressed that the personnel have undergone rigorous and intensive training for the period of 6 weeks after satisfying basic forensic and medical requirements before finally embarking on the shooting range classification.

Akinlade also emphasised on the need for professionalism and strict adherence to the acceptable standard of operation of the Corps and warned against any act of misuse or misconduct that negate the ethics of firearms.
