President Bola Tinubu has convened a high-level security meeting on Tuesday with National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Musa, at his official residence in the State House, Abuja.

The meeting comes amid recent escalating violence in parts of the country, particularly in Plateau and Benue states.

President Tinubu, who returned from a 19-day working visit to Europe on Monday evening, was expected to receive updates from his security and intelligence chiefs over the situation in areas that have experienced unrelenting violence and bloodshed in recent times.

The security situation in Plateau and Benue States has worsened, with reports of attacks by suspected foreign herders leading to significant loss of life and displacement of residents.

The ongoing violence has raised concerns both domestically and internationally, with calls for decisive action to restore peace and security in the affected regions.
