The Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) has called on the federal government to involve the institute in its palliatives and cash distribution programmes to the poor to ensure transparency.
President, Governing Council of the Institute, Dr. Iliyasu Gashinbaki, who made the plea during CIFCFIN’s 4th direct graduation ceremony, induction and award of Fellowship at EFCC Academy recently in Abuja, noted that there were widespread complaints on the palliatives not reaching the targeted population and said it was due to the absence of forensic data which the Institute is willing to offer to the federal and state governments.
He commended the federal government for rolling out palliatives to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal to the poorest segment of the society and the wage award for federal civil servants, and assured that CIFCFIN’s assistance will ensure that the good intentions of government are enjoyed by the generality of the people.
He also urged state governments to work out wage awards for their workforce.
After administering the oath allegiance to the newly certified members and fellows of the institute, Gashinbaki said the whole world was watching and they should show good examples as ambassadors of CIFCFIN in their workplace.
He further advised them to display a sense of professionalism in the discharge of their duties and obligations, whether they are in the public sector or the private sector.
The institute’s 4th direct membership training and Fellowship award had 273 certified members and 22 Fellows.
The next edition comes up in November this year. CIFCFIN became a chartered Institute on December 23, 2022 with assent to its bill by former President Muhammadu Buhari on December 23, 2022.
