The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has strengthened its diplomatic ties with the Pakistani Air force to explore innovative ways to end the nation’s security challenges.
This among others, the Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Oladayo Amao is seeking the 11th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2022) held at Karachi, Pakistan.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Cdre Edward Gabkwet, the IDEAS is a biennial defence industry show and one of Central Asia’s best platforms for international defence systems promotion.
He said IDEAS 2022 brings together international defence and security equipment manufacturers to explore opportunities for cooperation through joint ventures, outsourcing and collaboration.
He said during the 4- day exhibition which commenced from 15-18 November 2022, Air Marshal Amao alongside several other military leaders worldwide will have the opportunity to view a wide variety of defence systems, ranging from equipment used in developing nations to the most sophisticated technology from developed countries.
The exhibition also showcases technologies of the future and innovations in defence as well as several other weapon systems and equipment on display.
“The IDEAS 2022 thus provides an ideal interactive platform for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and other defence forces to access the most suitable products and technologies available to cater for their respective peculiar defence and security needs”.
“The IDEAS has since been touted as arguably the most important marketplace for innovative ideas that also facilitates meetings and networking sessions with numerous high-profile delegates, policymakers, diplomats and defence procurement experts all in a single location.
Bearing in mind the game-changing role that modern technology has brought to bear in NAF’s current counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations, the various products and innovations on display at IDEAS 2022 provides the CAS the best options suitable to continually face, head-long, the security challenges in Nigeria” he said.
He added that the CAS at the sideline of the exhibition and seminar, also met with his counterpart from the Pakistani Air Force as well as other senior military leadership where issues of bilateral military cooperation were extensively discussed.
