Inter Milan’s pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones continues, but a significant gap in the transfer fee is preventing an agreement, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The English midfielder, who has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield, remains the Nerazzurri’s primary target to reinforce their engine room.
In a post on his X handle, Romano wrote: “Jones is open to joining Inter, with both clubs maintaining contact. However, a deal is not imminent as Inter’s opening offer of €20 million is considered insufficient by Liverpool.”
The Italian champions are determined to secure the 25-year-old, and Jones himself is reportedly keen on the move, seeking more regular playing time as he enters the final year of his contract at Liverpool.
While the two clubs remain locked in negotiations, the deal is still very much “on” for now. Further talks are expected in the coming days as Inter try to bridge the financial gap
